Strain-Gauge Adhesives, Coatings, and Protective Sealants

BCM are able to supply strain-gauge adhesives, protective coatings and sealants that are useful and necessary in strain gauge applications. The specifications of those products are listed in the following table.

P/N
characteristics
operating temperature
application
curing conditions
shelf-life
B-610 high performance epoxy, two components, fast drying, low viscosity, minimum creep and hysteresis, excellent repeatability and stability, high insulation over a wide temperature range -270 ~ 370 °C excellent bonding of all types of BCM strain gages and compensation resistors,
specially recommended for use in production
of precision transducers
cure: 2 hours at 135 °C under
1 ~ 3 bar pressure
post-cure: 2 hours at 165 °C
6 months at 24 °C,
12 months at 2 °C
in single component form
B-711 cyanoacrylate, high adhesive property, small creep and hysteresis, easy to handle, elevated temperature and moisture deteriorating its performance moderate temperature range bonding of common-used gages and of OIC-series high elongation gages for short term stress analysis 3 hours at room temperature ("finger" pressure) 3 months at 2 °C without direct light and moisture
B-712 polyacetal, moderate viscosity, easy to dilute, fast drying, small hysteresis,
good repeatability and stability
